# Manga Art School ## Metadata **Status**:: #now **Zettel**:: #zettel/fleeting **Created**:: [[2026-05-01]] ## Fundamental Manga Proportions ### Body Horizontal lines: - Head line - Nipple line - Rib cage line - Elbow is near the rib cage line - Navel line - Crotch line - Hand is near the middle or thigh - Knee line - Foot line Vertical lines: - Shoulder: 1.66, 2, 3 of head width - Male hip is narrow than shoulder, female is wider.  ### Head Front view - Start with a sphere - Eye line (top of eyes) is around lower one-third on the sphere (in perspective view), or half of the whole head (top to chin). - Eye bottom line is around one-third of the height from eye line to chin. - Ears locate same horizontally as eyes - Nose tip is below the bottom eye line - Mouse: top one-third from bottom eye line to chin, or bottom of the sphere. - One eye distance between eyes Side view - Ear locate at the vertical center line of the sphere  ### Hand - One circle for the palm - Middle finger aligns at the vertical center line, and has the height same as the circle diameter - The hand height is about two thirds of the head height.  ## Advanced Manga Style Elements ### Eyes
